For Neil Garlock, a lifetime of service means decades of commitment to his country, his community, and the residents of Mendota Heights.

4 years of service. Honorably discharged as Rank Sergeant. Neil said that serving in the Marines gave him more responsibility than at any other point in his life - an experience that helped shape the way he approaches leadership to this day.

24 years with the Mendota Heights Police Department retired as Sergeant. For Neil, keeping the peace meant more than enforcing the law - it meant staying calm under pressure, treating people with respect, making sound decisions, and helping keep the community safe.

Mayor of Mendota Heights

Two terms · 2017-2021. Neil was chosen by the people of Mendota Heights to serve as their mayor. Earning the confidence of voters is an honor; earning it again reflects continued trust in his leadership, judgement, and commitment to the community.

Neil and his wife, Mona, have called Mendota Heights home since 1990. Together they raised their three children - Holli, Neil and Aaron - and today are proud grandparents to six grandchildren. 

 

For Neil, Mendota Heights is more the than the city he has served. It is the community where he and his family put down roots, built a life, and made lasting memories.
